Version 2026-09-06

Terms

The rules of using Endless Worlds, in plain words.

In force from 6 September 2026. This replaces version 2026-08-22. If you accepted that one, your account still records that you did, and you will be asked to accept this version.

Endless Worlds is a free, non-commercial reimplementation of the game Endless Online. It is run by a private individual, not a company. There is nothing to buy, nothing is sold, and no money changes hands in either direction.

By making an account you agree to what follows. It is written in plain English on purpose: if a term here is unclear, that is a fault worth reporting.

1. Your account

You choose a username and a password, and you give an email address.

  • The password is yours to keep safe. Do not reuse one from anywhere else. We store a scrambled form of it and cannot read it.
  • The email address is used for one thing: getting you back in if you forget your password. It is never sold, never shared for marketing, and never passed to anybody except the service that delivers the message.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you share it, what the other person does counts as yours.
  • You may hold more than one account, but not in order to gain an advantage over other players (see rule 2).

You must be old enough to agree to this yourself. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian to read it with you.

2. How to behave

Do not:

  • harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse other players;
  • post anything in chat that is illegal, or that you would not say to somebody standing in front of you;
  • attack, overload, probe or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the server, the database, the operator's console, or another player's account;
  • automate play (bots, scripted farming, multiple accounts co-operating) in a way that takes something from other people's experience;
  • exploit a bug rather than report it. Finding one is welcome. Quietly mining one is not.

3. What we may do about it

An operator may warn, mute, suspend, or remove an account or a character that breaks rule 2. Serious cases can be immediate and permanent.

Every one of those actions is written to an append-only record naming who did it, to whom, and why. If you think a decision was wrong, ask: there is a person on the other end, and the record exists so the question can be answered.

4. The game world is not a possession

Your characters, items, gold and progress live on a server somebody pays for out of their own pocket.

  • They have no monetary value and may not be sold, traded for money, or exchanged for anything outside the game.
  • They may be lost. A hardware failure, a mistake, a restored backup or a deliberate world reset can all take them. Backups are taken and rehearsed, and they are not a promise.
  • The game will change. Balance, items, maps and rules are all subject to being rewritten, and something you spent time on may become worth less.
  • The service may stop. This is a hobby project with one person behind it. If it closes, reasonable notice will be given here where practical, and that is a good-faith undertaking rather than a guarantee.

5. What belongs to whom

Endless Online is © Vult-r. This project is an independent reimplementation and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the original's authors or anybody who has run it.

The original game's own asset files are not distributed with this project and never will be. The code and artwork produced for this project remain the work of their authors. Anything you type in chat remains yours; you give permission for it to be shown to the players it was addressed to, which is the whole of what sending it does.

6. Privacy

What is kept about you, why, who else can see it and how to have it removed is set out on the privacy page. It is part of these terms.

7. No warranty, and what we are liable for

The service is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. It may be unavailable, slow, or wrong.

Nothing in these terms excludes a right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows: this is a free service, provided by an individual, and liability for loss arising from using it, including lost characters, lost items, lost progress and lost time, is excluded.

8. Changing these terms

These terms carry a version. When they change materially, you will be asked to accept the new version before you next play, and your account records which version you accepted and when. Older versions stay published, so a record of “accepted 2026-09-06” always points at the document that was actually shown.

9. Ending it

You may leave at any time. Delete a character from the character screen and everything it was carrying goes with it. To delete the account itself, ask the operator; see the privacy page.

An operator may end your access under rule 3.

10. The boring bits

  • These terms are governed by the law of Australia.
  • If a term here is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
  • These terms, and the privacy page, are the whole agreement between us.
